Myths about Homeopathy



Myth 1 - Homeopathic medicine is placebo

Homeopathic medicine starts from tincture form preparation which after the subsequent Potentization* stages becomes converted to subsequent potencies 1X, 2X, 3X..30X so on ... (in decimal scale) and 1C, 2C, 3C...30C so on (in Centisimal scale)


*Process of preparing medicine by transfering mechanical energy to the medicinal mixture with subsequent dilution to increase its dynamic power 



Myth 2 - Homeopathic medicine is slow in action

The effect pf Homeopathic medicine when prescribed correctly on basis of similimum can be seen within minutes in acute conditions and 2-3 days in chronic conditions.



Myth 3 - Homeopathic medicine can be poisonous 

Homeopathic medicines are prepared from different sources which include poisonous as well as inert substances of which Poisonous materials are not recommended to give below a certain potency as being harmful to health but with subsequent Potentization* stages they become great curative agents, which can be used to get astonishing results when applied on the basis of similimum.



Myth 4 - Homeopathic medicine does not depend on pathology and diagnosis

Though prescribed on the basis of symptom totality, a Homeopath like other physician also requires investigations as to define the prognosis of the disease and plan of treatment. 



Myth 5 - Homeopathic medicines has no evidence

There are numerous clinical trials on homeopathy present online which shows the effectivity and positive effects of homeopathy. 



Myth 6 - Homeopathy is declining

Homeopathy is spreading its effects worldwide. It is widely practised in India, where a number of colleges conduct a 4 1/2 year course on homeopathy with additonal one year internship. In the course the students are imparted the knowledge of various medicinal subjects along with homeopathic subjects as Anatomy, Physiology, Forensic medicine and Toxicology, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Medicine, Preventive & Social Medicine.


Myth 7 - Homeopathic medicine can cure everything and every condition

Like other modes of treatment homeopathy also has its limitations. A homeopath should be consulted to know about the scope of homeopathy in a particular disease condition. Though will be unable to cure chronic irreversible organic changes in organs, It can provide relief and palliation in these disease condition.
